The land that The Old Lumberyard complex is situated on is located in Mineral Point's Historic District, having the unique advantage of being conveniently close to the downtown area and also adjacent to the 40 mile Cheese Country Recreational Trail. Within walking distance you can browse through the Artists Galleries and Antique Shoppes, or catch a movie show or live theatre at the Historic Opera House. |

| While you are downtown Mineral Point, you might want to buy some of Hooks Award Winning
Cheeses at their operating cheese factory. Or, you may want to take the
walking/driving tour of the many outstanding historic homes and buildings in the
Historic District. The Pendarvis State Historic Site is a must-see when visiting
Mineral Point - with House on the Rock and Taliesin located minutes away. After
enjoying the many sights that make Mineral Point a truly unique city, a luncheon
or dinner can be had at the variety of restaurants available in Mineral Point. After a wonderful
meal you may want to walk or bike the Cheese Country Recreational Trail. This
former bed of the Milwaukee Road Railroad has segments of native prairie grasses
and wildflowers, river valleys and streams with catfish and smallmouth bass. You
may spot a bald eagle, deer or wild turkeys, or hear the calls of the Bobwhite
Quail and the beautiful ballads of Songbirds. It is a 40 mile trail that takes
you through the many sights that people of days gone by viewed from the window
